SDPI Strongly condemns anti people Fuel Price Hike

Chennai July 4: Social Democratic Party of India took out a Rally today to protest against the anti people policies pursued by the central government that have culminated in the rise of fuel prices. In a statement today it said that measures like the proposed nuclear liability bill and economic policies of the centre are the result of globalization and privatization. It also declared support to the forthcoming nationwide bandh on July 5.

Protests held throughout Tamilnadu including Madurai, Nellai and many more places.

On July 4,2010 today protest demonstration held at Kadayanallur Manikkkoondu. SDPI nellai west chapter organized this protest as a part of ongoing nationwide protests against autocratic central government for its anti people policies.

SDPI Nellai west General Secretary presided and nellai west President Naina Mohamed welcomed the gathering. President S.A. Fazlur Rahman in his speech condemned the Government that “International Oil price is comparatively low now and income from the tax for the government is higher than previous year earnings, so the price hike on fuel is unnecessary and it will lead  to the raise of all essential commodities” he said. “This price hike is not in favour of majority poor mass but for the welfare of rich oil giants and other private companies”, He accused.

“If the government is a truly  pro-people, pro-poor  government it will implement people welfare projects like Iran Gas pipeline project, Sethu Canal Project and similar projects really help the poor mass of India” .“Social Democratic Party will not remain as a mute spectator and will ring a death knell to the anti people policies of the government.

A maruti van without fuel was dragged by a rope was also demonstrated in that protest.

Nellai west district Vice president M.Mohamed mohideen, District secretary Badhusha, executive council members from tenkasi, Kadayanallur, sengottai, sankarankoil, Puliangudi and many people participated in this protest.

District President made arrangements for this protest and finally constituency committee secretary A.Yasar Khan thanked all.
