Chennai : Activists of Dravida Kazhagam and Popular Front of India (PFI) were arrested today when they tried to block trains as a mark of protest throughout Tamil nadu. They urged the centre to resume Sethu samudram shipping canal project immediately and not to give a 'communal colour to a development project.
Protest held in various places including kancheepuram, villupuram, cuddalore, coimbatore, madurai, Tanjore, Trichirappalli, tuticorin dindigul and salem.
Activists including women raised slogans and squatted before the train they were removed by the police.
