No Role in Smear Campaign against Popular Front, says Kerala Police

Kochi: Inspector General of Police B Sandhya made it clear that, the police have no role in smear campaign going on in media against Popular Front of India in connection with the attack on controversial lecturer T J Joseph for his blasphemous remarks on Prophet Muhammad. She was speaking to Popular Front delegation led by state council member M K Ashraf, who complained about the police torture against innocent activists regarding the issue.
Sandhya also assured that she will take necessary actions to redress their grievances.
The Popular Front delegation gave detailed account of police atrocities against innocent peoples including pregnant women in the name of investigation. Police are raiding the houses even when there are only women inside. They are physically and mentally torturing the inmates indiscriminately. And there were also instances of police taking away valuables like computers and mobile phone. The delegation also alleged that some police officials are behind the vilification campaign against Popular front on the basis of dales allegations.
