Kozhikkode: CPM has surrendered before the pressure from BJP with respect to the arrest of Abdunnasir Ma'dani, chairman of People's Democratic Party (PDP), alleged Popular Front of India. There can be no justification for the police act to arrest Ma'dani who was on the way to surrender before the court, said Nasruddeen Elamaram, state president of Popular Front.
This move was with clear political aim of CPM to join hands with BJP in the upcoming elections. CPM has surrendered before BJP's threat to call a hartal if Ma'dani was not arrested. This is a clear evidence for the newfound love between CPM and Hindutwa forces in state and national level, he added. The Left Front in Kerala, which has lost its support base among minorities, is trying to withstand with the support of BJP and RSS. The continuing police witch-hunt against Muslims is the part of it, he said.
Ma’dani was arrested yesterday by Karnataka police from Kollam yesterday in connection with Bangalore serial blast case.
