Kerala CM’s Anti-Muslim Statement: It's Babbling of Madman, Says Popular Front
Monday, July 26th, 2010
The CM’s statement is just like babblings of a madman. It will only help to create communal divide in the society, opined Popular Front state secretariat.
The words of V S Achutanandan are only repetition of the baseless allegations leveled by Sangh Parivar organizations so far. Those are not the words a true communist should utter. Through his statement V S has given legitimacy to the Hindutwa propaganda of Love Jihad, a charge refuted even by the Kerala High Court. If he is true to his statement, the onus is on him to produce evidences for it.
As chief minister of a state, V S should not put oil into the fire by this kind of irresponsible statements.
Popular Front also demanded CPM to come clear on the statement. It asked if the party was endorsing the remarks by CM against Muslim community.
Popular Front also alleged that this is the part of ploy by CPM to attract Hindutwa votes in the coming local body elections.
CM should clarify if Popular Front activists had the right to celebrate the freedom of the country, demanded Popular Front secretariat.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Saturday, VS had said that Popular Front was trying to multiply Muslim numbers in the state "by influencing youth of other religions and converting them by giving money, marrying them to Muslim women and thus producing kids of the community”.
