Inclusion of caste in census is not against Indian secular polity: Popular Front

Chennai (TN): In a Press Release Popular Front General Secretary of Tamilnadu A.Fakrudeen said,
"Conducting caste wise census is not against secularism".
He pointed out that,” In 1931 caste wise census was conducted in India and based on the
facts and figures Reservation and other privileges been given to certain underprivileged
Section of our Indian Society.
Mandal Commission identified the population of OBC as 52% with the help of caste wise census.
Many other castes were included into OBC later after 1931.
There is an allegation that exact census of Minorities including Muslims were not registered
properly. True development of a Nation is rests in equal and complete development of its
people irrespective of community.
For the sake of the empowerment of underprivileged Marginalized and weaker section of our
Indian society, to ensure social justice Government must first identify them and plan effectively to offer them their 
due rights. So caste wise census is essential and it is not at all against our Indian
secular polity."
Regarding the recent verdict of Tamil nadu High court  to include caste as one of the
parameter in census 2011 He said "Popular front of India hails this decision."
