Don’t Try to Divide Society on Communal Lines: Popular Front
State-wide Protest Marches Today
Saturday, July 10th, 2010
The injustice and discriminatory actions against innocent Muslims being followed by police under the cover of investigation and their attempts to tarnish Popular Front and its activists with the help of certain media will create more hatred in the society, said state vice president Karamana Ashraf Moulavi in a press conference here.
We will take appropriate legal steps against unjust police. If needed we are ready to hold popular protest against this discrimination. To begin with Popular Front will hold state wide protest marches today, he said.
Police can take punitive actions against those people involved in the attack against the teacher. But police should not become violators of the law in this matter. They should not approach the issue in a communal manner. Nobody is obstructing the investigation of police actions regarding the case. But we can not allow the police to hunt down innocent Muslims and torture them and their family members. Police are continuing unjust and indiscriminate raids in their houses and also abusing the inmates. Some media are spreading false reports about seizing porn CDs, guns and antinational documents from the house of Popular Front activists during raids. These baseless and derogatory reports are coming with the connivance of a certain vested interests in the police forces, alleged Popular Front leaders.
Those who believe that Popular Front of India can be suppressed by spreading rumors and using terror against their activists are living in fool’s paradise. It’s an organization that withstood all adverse situations in its fight against state discrimination, fascist terror and police atrocities. And it will move on and on, they said.
State general secretary, P Abdul Hameed, state council member, P K Yahya Thangal also participated in the press conference.
