Kollam: The special investigation team of the Karnataka police reached Kerala town of  Kollam in order to arrest Peoples' Democratic Chairman (PDP) chairman Abdunnasir Ma'dani in connection with the Bangalore serial blasts case.
The team, which reached Nedumbassery airport today morning, went to Kollam after having discussion with the Kochi city police commissioner.
It is learnt that the arrest would happen after having talks with higher police officials in the state. But there is no accurate information on when the arrest would be made. Kollam S.P told the media persons here that he can be arrested any time.
As the news of Bangalore police presence spread, PDP workers and supporters of Ma'dani began to pour in at his camp at Anwarssery Islamic complex near here.
Madani's name was added into the list as an accused in an additional chargesheet filed by SIT probing Bangalore blasts, allegedly based on the statements given to police by T Nazeer, the key accused in the case.
Karnataka High Court had last week rejected Madani's anticipatory bail plea. Kerala DGP Jacob Punnoose said that state police will extend all help to Karnataka team to arrest Ma'dani.
Ma'dani in a press conference in Anwarssery said that he was ready to court arrest.
Ma'dani who had languished in Coimbatore jail as an accused in Coimbatore blast case for more than nine years was exonerated later by Tamilnadu High Court.
