Dalith protest

Bangalore: Members of a dalit organisation protested near Vidhana Soudha on Monday morning by pouring drainage sludge on themselves.

Annaiah, Ravi, Rafiq and Abhi were taken into custody. Later, the organization's members met police commissioner Shankar Bidari and submitted a memorandum.

The organization claimed the government had sanctioned 47.9 acres to dalits of Ambedkar Nagar in Pattana Agrahara. However, 3 acres, 20 guntas were withdrawn recently. Though the government promised to use it for a local police station and panchayat building, it was leased to a private builder to construct a commercial complex, they alleged.
