Assure population based representation for Muslims and Dalits in Women Reservation Bill - National Women Front
Calicut: National President of National Womens Front (NWF) A.S.Zainaba said at a press conference that before passing the Women Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha government should make some positive changes by assuring population based representation to Dalit and backward women.
Sub quota for Muslim and Backward women is unavoidable in 33% Women Reservation as the women who are currently in the prominent political parties are from upper castes and urban areas. Though several Political Parties ruled in India, statistics prove that Muslims remained backward. Sachar Committee revealed that Muslim representation in Government Services and Educational sector is pathetic. NWF urges that Government should implement Ranganath Mishra Commission recommendation and should give special recruitment to them she added.
She said that National Womens Front backs the National Campaign for Muslim Reservation organized by Popular Front of India.
