Kerala Imams Council

The Kerala Imams Council is the first of its kind that the Ulema (Scholars) organize themselves against the social evils. The “Anti-Dowry, Free the Community” campaign organized by this council drew much public attention. It was a new experience for the general public to see the Imams on the streets in protest. “Emancipation through the Prophet” helped to re-reach out the message of the Prophet to common people. The Imams Council held successful campaigns against singling out the Muslim youths in the neo-colonial designed anti-terrorism hype. “Imam” is the monthly published by the Council.
